US officials continue to use old technologies for professional communication, most of them still carry the BlackBerry in them pocket. It turns out that almost all the administration work with archaic computers and monochrome printers, writes New York Times.

Many White House aides now carry the most recent iPhones. Mr. Obama, however, still carries a specially modified, highly secure BlackBerry.

President Barack Obama, however, wants to change that within the entire government. Deputy Chief of Staff Anita Decker Breckenridge already managed to improve the connection in Air Force One with broadband connectivity, and now the whole administration has the right to use a brand new iPhone handsets.

But the president himself has no right on the iPhone, although Obama likes the brand. Supreme Commander will continue to use “specially modified secure BlackBerry”.
