Despite the tech world awaiting the impending arrival of the Galaxy Note 7, that doesn’t mean the rumour mill has to slow down when it comes to other devices.

Unlike the trillions of underwhelming iPhone 7 leaks, though, the latest consensus surrounding Samsung’s Galaxy S8 could be very exciting for those looking to upgrade – and do so in a big way.

According to a report from Phone Arena, Samsung plans to make the 2017 handset its first to offer a 4K display.

This increased screen resolution will also ensure ample support for Google’s Daydream VRproject. With the phone also allegedly receiving in-house branding of ‘Project Dream’, the signs are all pointing to the device becoming the go-to for your Daydream exploits.

Samsung has already shown off a 5.5-inch 4K display at the DisplayWeek conference in San Francisco this year, though the South Korean giant is yet to implement the technology. That’s on top of the same 4K, VR-enabled speculation which surfaced around a month ago.

While it all seems pretty straightforward judging from the details of this report, we won’t know the exact specs of the Galaxy S8 until February next year, when the company is expected to announce the phone at the Mobile World Congress event.
