With the grand unveiling of Samsung’s Galaxy S7 thought to be no more than a couple of months away, the leaks are flooding in.
Mooted specs details for the flagship handset have been published by reliable rumours blog SamMobile, and there are a few surprises in store.
The Android device is listed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB of RAM, but the big news concerns its screen size, which is said to be 5.7 inches.
The iPhone 6S Plus-dwarfing model described in the leak is thought to be a larger version of the Galaxy S7, set to be released alongside the standard and curvaceous Edge editions.
Another surprising claim concerns the device’s cameras, listed as 12 megapixels on the rear and 5 megapixels on the front, the first of which would be a downgrade from the Galaxy S6 on paper.
Of course, a higher megapixel count doesn’t always result in superior photography, so let’s see what Samsung has up its sleeve.
Meanwhile, a report by VentureBeat suggests that the Galaxy S6 will be waterproof to the IP67 standard and bring back microSD storage.
Add to this rumours of a pressure-sensitive display and USB Type-C port, and Samsung’s next flagship is shaping up to be a feature-packed handset – despite leaked photos pointing to a similar design to the Galaxy S6.
