Adding another feather to its cap, OnePlus last week launched the OnePlus 3T, which is an upgraded version of OnePlus 3. The OnePlus 3T was launched with features that are a bump from the not-so-old OnePlus 3. OnePlus said at the launch event that its new smartphone will hit the shelves on November 22 in the US, November 26 in the European market, and November 28 in the UK. However, there was no announcement made for the Indian market then. Now, it seems we are soon going to witness the launch of OnePlus 3T in the country.

In a photo tweeted by OnePlus India that reads “Guess who’s coming to town?”, the company hinted at the arrival of the OnePlus 3T in India. The photo posted online bears this capitalised text – “THE BEST IS ABOUT TO GET BETTER” – with a background in a colour very similar to one of the two colour variants of OnePlus 3T i.e., Gunmetal. There is no information on whether the Soft Gold variant will come to India or not but since the Chinese company had previously said it would make the Soft Gold variant available shortly after the launch, it is unlikely to come to India initially. The information also runs short of the date and time of the OnePlus 3T launch in the country.

The Chinese mobile startup had revealed the pricing for the OnePlus 3T for the announced regions (which didn’t include India initially). The 64GB storage model has been priced at GBP 399 (roughly Rs. 33,700), EUR 439 (roughly Rs. 31,200), and $439 (roughly Rs. 29,800), while the 128GB model has been priced at GBP 439 (roughly Rs. 37,100), EUR 479 (roughly Rs. 34,800), and $479 (roughly Rs. 32,500). The India launch will also spell the pricing alongside but till then we can assume it to be nearing the above mentioned INR currency equivalents.

Outlining the exact differences between the two smartphones – OnePlus 3 (Review) and OnePlus 3T, the latter has some improved features and specifications. The OnePlus 3T sports a faster quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 CPU (two cores clocked at 1.6GHz and two cores clocked at 2.35GHz) compared to the Snapdragon 820 SoC on the older variant. It comes in both 64GB and 128GB storage options, compared to just a 64GB variant on the OnePlus 3.
For camera, the OnePlus 3T is superior in terms of camera resolution. The OnePlus 3T has 16-megapixel cameras on both – rear and front – sides. The imaging sensor inside the cameras have also been replaced to Samsung 3P8SP with 1-micron pixels. The newer OnePlus 3T gets its juice from the larger 3400mAh battery, better than the 3000mAh battery in OnePlus 3. The Dash charging technology is included in the OnePlus 3T as well.

Other specifications are identical on both the smartphones. The design and body of the OnePlus 3T resembles OnePlus 3 with same anodised aluminium metal unibody, with the fingerprint scanner mounted on the physical home button. The proprietary Alert Slider of OnePlus 3 has been given on the OnePlus 3T as well. The OnePlus 3T also comes with the same USB 2.0 Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It sports a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) Optic AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The processor inside the smartphone is coupled with 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM.

The connectivity options on the OnePlus 3T include 4G LTE (with support for India’s LTE bands), Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, and GPS/ A-GPS. It bears the same dimensions as the OnePlus 3 at 152.7×74.7×7.35mm with same weight at 158 grams.
