Apple celebrates one billion iPhones

In its financial report for Q3 of 2016 Apple announced that it has sold over one billion iPhones since the first model in 2007. Billionth iPhone has sold last week said Apple CEO Tim Cook. Revenues for Q3 2016 decreased by 15% compared to the same quarter last year. Revenue from the iPhone fell by 23% annually.

During a call with investors Tim Cook stressed that the launch of iPhone SE was “very successful”. “Our initial data suggest that iPhone SE is popular in both developed and developing markets. The percentage of buyers of iPhone SE, for whom this is their first iPhone at all, during the first weeks is greater to which any other models we’ve released in the last few years, “says Cook.

About the billion iPhone Cook said: “Last week, we achieved another great success, sold billions iPhone. We never set out to make the most, but we’ve always set out to make the best products that make a difference,”. Apple noted over 1 billion sold iOS devices in January 2015 and in January 2016 announced that it now has 1 billion active devices in general, including iPhone, iPad, Mac, iPod, Apple TV and Apple Watch.

Other products of Apple, other than iPhone, constitute a relatively small percentage of the total number of 1 billion active devices.
