Apple introduced two new 12-inch MacBook models with the new sixth generation Skylake dual-core Intel Core M7 processors operating at 1,3 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz. They come with new Intel HD Graphics 515, which delivers up to 25 percent higher performance, faster PCIe-based flash memory, an additional hour of battery life and faster memory RAM (1866 MHz).
The ultra-thin MacBook comes in full metal body with a thickness of only 13.1 mm and weighs only 0.92 kg, with a full-size keyboard and Force Touch trackpad. The 12-inch display is with a resolution of 2304 x 1440 pixels (226 PPI), has a single USB 3.1 Type-C port, 256GB or 512GB flash memory, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and 480p FaceTime camera. There are also stereo speakers, two microphones and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The improvement of one hour of battery life, which currently lasts up to 10 hours is achieved not only through more efficient Skylake processors, but also because of the larger 41.4-watt lithium-polymer battery.
Refreshed 12-inch MacBook models are available in the online stores of Apple, starting with prices from $1,299 to $1,599. In addition to Rose Gold version 12-inch MacBook remains available in existing Gold, Silver and Space Gray. Apple also has made 8GB of RAM standard for all 13-inch MacBook Air configurations.
